The AIM app is quite good in the UI department.
But I say it fails for now for four major reasons.
One, it does not currently use the Push Notification feature so you are not alerted to new IM’s if AIM is not currently open. Requiring you to open the app. A few times, when I did the indicated new IM’s did not actually show up in the chat view.
Two, no links of any kind can be “clicked” even if preceded by http://.
Three, no images that normally show in-line in iChat. This may be a trickier feature to implement but it is silly for me to have to put in my status - “I AM USING MOBILE AIM AND CANNOT SEE PASTED IMAGES.”
Four, if you are in a active chat. But you do not touch anything nor does someone send you an IM, the screen will neither dim nor go into standby. It must be forced with the power button.
Here’s hoping for a quick update.
